  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Lavender sprigs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of dried culinary lavender.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it steep for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup to remove the lavender buds. Set aside to cool slightly.
  6. Brew a shot of espresso using an espresso machine, or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
  7. If desired, add sugar to the hot coffee and stir until dissolved.
  8. In a small saucepan, pour in 1 cup of milk and place it over medium heat.
  9. Heat the milk gently, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching, until steaming but not boiling.
  10. Remove from heat and froth the milk using a milk frother or by whisking vigorously by hand.
  11. In a large mug, pour in the shot of espresso (or strong brewed coffee).
  12. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla syrup to the coffee.
  13. Pour in the lavender infusion, adjusting the amount based on your preference.
  14. Gently pour the frothed milk over the coffee and lavender mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon if desired.
  15. Spoon the frothy milk on top of your latte.
