Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large croissants, preferably day-old
  • 8 ounces sliced turkey ham
  • 8 ounces shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a blend)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the croissants in half horizontally. If they are fresh, let them sit out to dry slightly.
  3. Lay the bottom halves of the croissants in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, fitting them snugly together.
  4. Layer the turkey ham evenly over the croissant bottoms, folding slices as needed.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the turkey ham.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, crack the 6 eggs and add 1 cup of milk.
  7. Stir in 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Whisk the egg mixture until well combined and smooth.
  9. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissants, turkey ham, and cheese.
  10. Gently press down on the croissants to ensure they absorb the egg mixture.
  11. If you have leftover croissant tops, place them on top of the bake, ensuring they are soaked in the egg mixture.
  12. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  14. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is fully set.
  15. Check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should come out clean.
  16. Let the bake cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  17. Slice into squares or rectangles and transfer to plates or a serving platter.
  18. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator. Just add an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
