  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 glasses 1x

Description

A refreshing Strawberry Lemonade that combines the sweetness of strawberries with the tartness of fresh lemons, perfect for hot summer days and gatherings. Enjoy it chilled over ice, garnished with mint and lemon slices for an extra touch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Additional lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, add the sliced strawberries. Reserve a few slices for garnish if desired.
  2. Blend on high speed until smooth (about 30 seconds to 1 minute).
  3. Optionally, strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds for a smoother texture.
  4. Set the strawberry puree aside.
  5. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved (1-2 minutes).
  6. Add the cold water to the pitcher and stir to combine.
  7. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
  8. Pour the strawberry puree into the pitcher with the lemonade base, scraping out every bit for maximum flavor.
  9. Gently stir to combine, creating a swirl effect without overmixing.
  10. Taste again and adjust sweetness or tartness if necessary.
  11. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to meld flavors.
  12. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the strawberry lemonade over the ice.
  13. Add reserved strawberry slices for garnish, and optionally garnish with fresh mint and lemon slices.
  14. Appreciate the vibrant color and aroma before sipping.
  15. Pair with light snacks like fresh fruit or cheese.
  16. Experiment with other fruits or a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving again.
