Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini: The Ultimate Cocktail Recipe

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Martini 1x

Description

A refreshing Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini with homemade strawberry puree and a zesty lemon sugar rim. Perfect for summer evenings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 4 ounces vodka (citrus or regular)
  • 2 ounces lemon liqueur (like Limoncello)
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, plus extra for rimming
  • 1 ounce strawberry puree (from above)
  • ½ ounce simple syrup (or to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest, finely grated
  • Optional: A few drops of red food coloring for a pink hue
  • Fresh strawberry, sliced
  • Lemon wedge

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Puree: Wash and hull strawberries. In a blender or food processor, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for an extra smooth puree (optional). Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sugar Rim: Zest a lemon. In a shallow dish, combine sugar and lemon zest, rubbing the zest into the sugar. Add red food coloring for a pink hue (optional). Moisten the rim of a martini glass with a lemon wedge. Dip the rim into the sugar mixture, rotating until coated. Shake off excess sugar and set aside.
  3. Make the Martini: Chill your martini glass (optional). Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, lemon liqueur, lemon juice, strawberry puree, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. Strain into the prepared martini glass.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice and a lemon wedge. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup.
  • For a bubbly martini, top with a splash of club soda or sparkling wine.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used, thaw completely before blending.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the strawberry puree for a spicy kick.
  • For a mocktail, substitute vodka with sparkling water or club soda and omit the lemon liqueur. Add a splash of lemon-lime soda for extra sweetness.
  • Enjoy responsibly!
