Perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy evening, this cocktail is easy to prepare and can be customized with optional triple sec or tropical fruits for a unique twist. Serve chilled and garnish with fresh strawberries and lime wedges for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
- 1 cup white rum
- 1/2 cup ice cubes (more if you prefer a slushier texture)
- Fresh strawberries and lime wedges for garnish
- Optional: 1 tablespoon of triple sec for added flavor
Instructions
- Wash the fresh strawberries under cold running water. Hull them by removing the green tops and slice into halves or quarters.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1/4 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, fresh lime juice, white rum, and cooled simple syrup. If using, add triple sec.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender. For a thicker texture, add more ice.
- Blend on high speed until smooth (30-45 seconds). If too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice.
- Taste the daiquiri. Adjust sweetness with more simple syrup or sugar, or balance with lime juice. Blend again briefly to mix.
- Prepare serving glasses (chill in the freezer for 10 minutes for an extra touch). Pour the daiquiri into the glasses, leaving space for garnish.
- Garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim and a lime wedge.
- Serve immediately and enjoy! Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for a few hours, but texture may change as ice melts.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, substitute some strawberries with mango or pineapple.
- For a frozen version, freeze strawberries beforehand and skip the ice cubes.
- For a non-alcoholic option, omit the rum and replace it with sparkling water or lemonade.
