Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail: A Refreshing Recipe for Summer Sipping

  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Strawberry Daiquiri made with fresh strawberries, zesty lime, and smooth white rum. Perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy evening, this cocktail is easy to prepare and can be customized with optional triple sec or tropical fruits for a unique twist. Serve chilled and garnish with fresh strawberries and lime wedges for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 45 limes)
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (more if you prefer a slushier texture)
  • Fresh strawberries and lime wedges for garnish
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of triple sec for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Wash the fresh strawberries under cold running water. Hull them by removing the green tops and slice into halves or quarters.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1/4 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, fresh lime juice, white rum, and cooled simple syrup. If using, add triple sec.
  4. Add the ice cubes to the blender. For a thicker texture, add more ice.
  5. Blend on high speed until smooth (30-45 seconds). If too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice.
  6. Taste the daiquiri. Adjust sweetness with more simple syrup or sugar, or balance with lime juice. Blend again briefly to mix.
  7. Prepare serving glasses (chill in the freezer for 10 minutes for an extra touch). Pour the daiquiri into the glasses, leaving space for garnish.
  8. Garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim and a lime wedge.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy! Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for a few hours, but texture may change as ice melts.

Notes

  • For a tropical twist, substitute some strawberries with mango or pineapple.
  • For a frozen version, freeze strawberries beforehand and skip the ice cubes.
  • For a non-alcoholic option, omit the rum and replace it with sparkling water or lemonade.
