Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips (if using).
  7. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
  8. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Once cool, cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve and enjoy!
