Soju Yakult Cocktail: The Refreshing Recipe You Need to Try

  • Total Time: 2 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 5 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make Korean cocktail combining the smooth taste of Soju with the sweet and tangy flavor of Yakult.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (360ml) Soju (Korean rice wine)
  • 5 bottles (65ml each) Yakult (probiotic drink)
  • Ice cubes (as much as you like)
  • Optional: Lemon or lime wedges for garnish
  • Optional: Sparkling water or club soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture: In a large pitcher, pour the entire bottle of Soju. Add all five bottles of Yakult. Gently stir until well combined, avoiding excessive foam.
  2. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust the ratio of Soju to Yakult to your preference. Add more Yakult if too strong, or a splash more Soju for a stronger kick (be careful!).
  3. Add Ice and Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the Soju Yakult mixture into the glasses, leaving room at the top.
  4. Optional Fizz: Top off each glass with a splash of sparkling water or club soda.
  5. Optional Garnish: Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge. Squeeze the wedge over the drink before dropping it in.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • Fruity Flavors: Add a splash of fruit juice, such as strawberry, mango, or pineapple juice, for a fruity twist.
  • Frozen Delight: Blend the Soju, Yakult, and ice together in a blender for a frozen Soju Yakult slushie.
  • Yogurt Power: For a creamier texture, substitute some of the Yakult with plain yogurt.
  • Tea Time: Infuse the Soju with tea bags (like green tea or jasmine tea) for a unique flavor profile.
  • Spice it Up: Add a pinch of ginger or a dash of chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Sweeten the Deal: If you prefer a sweeter drink, add a little simple syrup or honey to taste.
  • Garnish Galore: Get creative with your garnishes! Try adding fresh berries, mint leaves, or even edible flowers.
  • Too Sweet: If the cocktail is too sweet, add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice to balance the flavors.
  • Not Sweet Enough: If the cocktail is not sweet enough, add a little simple syrup, honey, or agave nectar to taste.
  • Too Strong: If the cocktail is too strong, add more Yakult or sparkling water to dilute the alcohol.
  • Not Strong Enough: If the cocktail is not strong enough, add a splash more Soju (but be careful!).
  • Too Foamy: If the cocktail is too foamy, avoid stirring too vigorously. Gently stir the Soju and Yakult together until they are just combined.
  • Making it Non-Alcoholic: If you want to enjoy this drink without the alcohol, you can substitute the Soju with sparkling water, club soda, or even a non-alcoholic rice wine.
