Creamy Pecan Pie Dip: a sweet, easy treat with cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, pecans, and caramel. Perfect for parties!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided (reserve 1/4 cup for topping)
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
- Graham crackers, apple slices, gingersnaps, or other dippers, for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy (2-3 minutes). Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Gradually add the packed light brown sugar to the cream cheese mixture. Beat on medium speed until fully incorporated and the mixture is light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt to the bowl. Beat on low speed until all ingredients are well combined.
- Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the chopped pecans.
- Add the 1/4 cup of caramel sauce and gently fold it in until it’s evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chopped pecans over the top of the dip.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top of the pecans (optional).
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Before serving, remove the dip from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to soften slightly.
- Serve with graham crackers, apple slices, gingersnaps, or other dippers.
Notes
- For a more intense pecan flavor, toast the pecans before chopping. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly browned.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of bourbon for a boozy twist.
- Experiment with different spices like ground cloves or allspice.
- To make it vegan, use vegan cream cheese and butter substitutes.
- Add 1/4 cup of chocolate chips for a chocolatey twist.
- Serve warm by microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until heated through.
- Leftover Pecan Pie Dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
