  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 2-3 servings 1x

Description

Zesty orange lemon ginger shot packed with vitamins and antioxidants to boost immunity and energy. Perfect for a quick, healthy pick-me-up!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large oranges, peeled
  • 4 lemons, peeled
  • 4-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional, for added health benefits)
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional, enhances turmeric absorption)
  • 1/4 cup water (optional, if needed to help blending)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Remove all the white pith from the oranges and lemons. The pith is bitter. Use a sharp knife or vegetable peeler.
  2. Peel the ginger using a spoon. Roughly chop the ginger into smaller pieces.
  3. Have turmeric, black pepper, honey, or maple syrup ready.
  4. Place oranges, lemons, and ginger into your blender. Add turmeric and black pepper, if using.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of water if the blender struggles.
  6. Blend on high speed until smooth (1-2 minutes). Scrape down the sides as needed.
  7. Line a sieve or nut milk bag with cheesecloth. Pour the blended mixture into the sieve and let the juice drain through. Press on the solids to extract more juice. Discard the pulp.
  8. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if desired. Stir well.
  9. Set up your juicer.
  10. Feed the oranges, lemons, and ginger into the juicer. Add turmeric and black pepper to the juice, if using.
  11. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if desired. Stir well.
  12. For the best flavor and nutritional benefits, serve immediately.
  13. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
  14. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
  15. A typical serving size is 2-3 ounces.
