Easy no-bake matcha chocolate chip bliss balls with oats, almond flour, and chia seeds. A quick and healthy energy snack!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup almond flour
- ¼ cup matcha powder (culinary grade)
- ½ cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)
- ½ cup almond butter (or any nut butter)
- ¼ cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: Extra matcha powder for rolling
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the rolled oats, almond flour, and matcha powder. Sift the matcha powder to avoid clumps.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Toss in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Incorporate Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond butter, maple syrup, chia seeds, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky and hold together when pressed. If too dry, add almond milk or water, 1 tablespoon at a time. If too wet, add almond flour or rolled oats, 1 tablespoon at a time.
- Add Salt: Mix in the sea salt thoroughly.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or longer) to firm up.
- Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. If using, pour extra matcha powder into a shallow bowl.
- Roll the Bliss Balls: Take a spoonful of the chilled mixture and roll it between your palms to form a smooth ball. Dampen hands slightly to prevent sticking.
- Coat (Optional): Roll the bliss ball in extra matcha powder, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or cacao nibs.
- Place on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled bliss ball on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all mixture is used.
- Final Chill (Optional): Chill in the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes for firmer bliss balls.
- Store Properly: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
- Serving Suggestions: Enjoy as a healthy snack, pre- or post-workout energy boost, or dessert.
