  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Mango Matcha Latte, combining creamy coconut milk, sweet mango puree, and earthy matcha green tea. This vibrant drink is perfect for warm days or as a revitalizing afternoon treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup of coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by taking your ripe mango. Make sure it’s soft to the touch, which indicates it’s perfectly ripe and sweet.
  2. Peel the mango using a sharp knife or a vegetable peeler. Be careful to remove all the skin, as we want only the juicy flesh.
  3. Once peeled, cut the mango into small chunks. This will make it easier to blend into a smooth puree.
  4. Place the diced mango into a blender. If you want a sweeter puree, you can add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup at this stage.
  5. Blend the mango on high speed until it reaches a smooth consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is well mixed.
  6. Once blended, taste the puree. If you feel it needs more sweetness, add a little more honey or syrup and blend again.
  7. Transfer the mango puree to a bowl and set it aside.
  8. In a small bowl, add 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder.
  9. Pour in about 2 tablespoons of hot water (not boiling, around 175°F or 80°C is ideal). This will help dissolve the matcha powder.
  10. Using a whisk or a matcha whisk (chasen), whisk the matcha and water together until it’s frothy and there are no lumps. If you don’t have a whisk, a small fork will work too.
  11. Once you have a smooth mixture, add in 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk again until everything is well combined.
  12. Set the matcha mixture aside.
  13. In a separate mixing bowl or a large glass, pour in 1 cup of coconut milk (or your preferred milk). If you like your latte cold, you can use chilled milk or add ice cubes at this stage.
  14. Next, add the prepared matcha mixture to the milk. Stir gently to combine the matcha with the milk.
  15. Now, take your mango puree and add it to the bottom of your serving glass. If you’re using ice, fill the glass with ice cubes first.
  16. Slowly pour the matcha milk mixture over the mango puree to create a lovely layered effect.
  17. Give it a gentle stir if you prefer a more blended drink, or leave it layered for a stunning presentation.
  18. Garnish your latte with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and a refreshing aroma.
  19. If you like, you can also sprinkle a little extra matcha powder on top for an added touch.
  20. Grab a straw or a spoon, and enjoy your delicious Mango Matcha Latte!

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness of the mango puree and matcha mixture according to your taste preferences.
  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
