Description
Enjoy a refreshing Korean Strawberry Milk, a simple and delightful drink made with fresh strawberries and creamy milk. Perfect for warm days, this sweet treat features a beautiful pink color and a burst of fruity flavor, making it an ideal choice for any time of the day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup milk (whole, almond, or any milk of your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water. Hull the strawberries by removing the green tops, then slice them into quarters or smaller pieces.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Toss gently to coat the strawberries evenly with sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to draw out the natural juices, creating a syrup. If desired, mash the strawberries slightly for a smoother consistency.
- In a separate bowl or measuring cup, pour in the milk. If using, add the vanilla extract and stir until well combined.
- In a glass, add a few spoonfuls of the strawberry mixture at the bottom. Slowly pour the milk over the strawberry mixture, using a spoon to layer gently if desired. If you prefer a chilled drink, add ice cubes before pouring in the milk.
- Give the drink a gentle stir to combine the strawberry syrup and milk, creating a beautiful pink swirl. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, adding more sugar or syrup as desired. Garnish with whole strawberries or a sprig of mint for an extra touch.
- Serve immediately for the best flavor and freshness. Store any leftover strawberry syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
- Experiment with different types of milk for unique flavors.
- For a smoothie-like texture, blend the strawberries with the milk instead of layering.
- To make a larger batch, simply multiply the ingredients while keeping the ratios the same.
