  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Garlic Steak Bites are tender pieces of sirloin marinated in spices and garlic, then seared to perfection. Finished with fresh lemon juice and parsley, they make a delightful appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil, divided
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried oregano.
  3. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the seasoned steak and toss until well coated.
  4. Let the steak marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  5. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  6. Add the marinated steak bites to the skillet in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  7. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to form a crust.
  8. Flip the steak bites and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until browned and medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  9. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  10. Remove from heat and squeeze the juice of one lemon over the steak bites.
  11. Transfer the garlic steak bites to a serving platter.
  12. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish.
  13. Serve immediately while hot, optionally with toothpicks for easy eating.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Cut: Sirloin is recommended, but ribeye or tenderloin can also be used.
  • Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Cook in batches if necessary to ensure proper searing.
