Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium cucumber
- 2 ounces vodka
- 4 ounces soda water
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Salt (optional, for rimming the glass)
Instructions
- Wash the cucumber thoroughly under cold water using a vegetable brush.
- Slice the cucumber into thin rounds (about 1/8-inch thick) or half-moons. For a more intense flavor, blend half of the slices into a puree.
- In a cocktail shaker, add the cucumber slices or puree. Muddle gently to release the juices.
- Pour in the vodka and add the fresh lime juice.
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Optionally, rim your glass with salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
- Top off with soda water and stir gently to combine.
- Add a few fresh mint leaves on top, slapping them between your hands to release their oils.
- Optionally, add leftover cucumber slices for decoration.
- Serve immediately while cold. This drink is perfect for summer gatherings or a relaxing evening.
- For parties, multiply the ingredients and mix in a pitcher, adding soda water just before serving.
Notes
- For variations, consider adding other fruits or herbs, flavored vodkas, or making a non-alcoholic version by omitting vodka and increasing soda water.
- Store leftover cucumber slices and mint in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a couple of days. The mixed drink is best enjoyed fresh.
