Description
Enjoy a refreshing Clayton’s Margarita, a delightful mix of tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur, with a touch of sweetness. Perfect for sunny days or relaxing evenings, this classic cocktail is sure to impress at any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz tequila (preferably 100% agave)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/2 oz agave syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- Salt (for rimming the glass)
- Lime wedge (for garnish)
- Ice (for shaking and serving)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your glass. A classic margarita glass works best, but any glass will do.
- Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of the glass to help the salt stick.
- Pour some salt onto a small plate.
- Gently dip the rim of the glass into the salt, twisting it slightly for an even coating. Set aside to let the salt adhere.
- Grab a cocktail shaker (or a mason jar with a lid).
- Fill the shaker with ice, about halfway.
- Pour in 2 oz of tequila.
- Add 1 oz of fresh lime juice (freshly squeezed is best).
- Add 1 oz of orange liqueur.
- If desired, add 1/2 oz of agave syrup for sweetness.
- Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to mix and chill the ingredients.
- Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass. For a margarita on the rocks, fill the glass with ice before pouring.
- For a straight-up margarita, pour the mixture into the glass without ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
- Admire your creation and enjoy the vibrant color and fresh lime aroma.
- Sip slowly and enjoy the refreshing taste of your homemade Claytons Margarita.
Notes
- Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
- Experiment with different types of tequila for unique flavors.
- For flavored margaritas, muddle fresh fruit like strawberries or mango in the shaker before adding other ingredients.
- For a frozen margarita, blend the ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
