Description
Cozy and flavorful Cherry Vanilla Tea Latte with cherry-infused tea, creamy milk, and sweet vanilla syrup. Enjoy hot or iced!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 bags of cherry-flavored black tea (or herbal tea for a caffeine-free option)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond, soy, or oat milk)
- 1/4 cup vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade, recipe follows)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
- Vanilla extract (optional, a few drops to enhance the vanilla flavor)
- Ice cubes (if making an iced latte)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. If using a vanilla bean, scrape the seeds into the saucepan and add the pod as well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until the syrup has slightly thickened. If you used a vanilla bean, remove it from the syrup. You can rinse and dry the pod and bury it in a jar of sugar to make vanilla sugar!
- If using vanilla extract instead of a vanilla bean, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the syrup to cool completely before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Pour the boiling water over the tea bags in a mug or teapot.
- Steep the tea for 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
- Remove the tea bags and discard.
- Pour the vanilla syrup into a mug.
- Add the brewed cherry tea to the mug.
- Pour the steamed or frothed milk over the tea.
- If desired, top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
- Stir gently and enjoy!
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the vanilla syrup into the glass.
- Add the brewed cherry tea to the glass.
- Pour the cold milk over the tea and syrup.
- If desired, top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
- Stir well to combine and enjoy!
