Cherry Vanilla Tea Latte: A Delicious & Easy Recipe

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

Cozy and flavorful Cherry Vanilla Tea Latte with cherry-infused tea, creamy milk, and sweet vanilla syrup. Enjoy hot or iced!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 bags of cherry-flavored black tea (or herbal tea for a caffeine-free option)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond, soy, or oat milk)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade, recipe follows)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
  • Vanilla extract (optional, a few drops to enhance the vanilla flavor)
  • Ice cubes (if making an iced latte)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. If using a vanilla bean, scrape the seeds into the saucepan and add the pod as well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until the syrup has slightly thickened. If you used a vanilla bean, remove it from the syrup. You can rinse and dry the pod and bury it in a jar of sugar to make vanilla sugar!
  4. If using vanilla extract instead of a vanilla bean, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool completely before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  6. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  7. Pour the boiling water over the tea bags in a mug or teapot.
  8. Steep the tea for 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  9. Remove the tea bags and discard.
  10. Pour the vanilla syrup into a mug.
  11. Add the brewed cherry tea to the mug.
  12. Pour the steamed or frothed milk over the tea.
  13. If desired, top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
  14. Stir gently and enjoy!
  15. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  16. Pour the vanilla syrup into the glass.
  17. Add the brewed cherry tea to the glass.
  18. Pour the cold milk over the tea and syrup.
  19. If desired, top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
  20. Stir well to combine and enjoy!
