  • Total Time: 15
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Refreshing, creamy Brazilian Lemonade with whole limes, sugar, water, and sweetened condensed milk. A sweet and tart delight!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium-sized limes, preferably thin-skinned
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, adjust to taste
  • 4 cups cold water, divided
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, more to taste
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Optional: Lime slices or wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Limes: Wash limes thoroughly, trim the ends, and quarter each lime.
  2. Blend: Combine quartered limes, water, and sugar in a blender. Blend on high speed for 15-20 seconds until smooth.
  3. Strain: Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher. Press on the solids to extract juice and discard the solids.
  4. Add Sweetness: Pour in sweetened condensed milk and stir well until dissolved.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Add more sweetened condensed milk or water to taste.
  6. Chill and Serve: Add ice to the pitcher, stir, and serve immediately. Garnish with lime slices or wedges, if desired.

Notes

  • Use organic limes for best results.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  • Don’t over-blend the limes to avoid bitterness.
  • Strain the mixture thoroughly for a smoother drink.
  • Serve ice cold.
  • For a vegan option, use sweetened condensed coconut milk.
  • If the lemonade is too bitter, blend for a shorter time next time or add a pinch of salt.
  • If the lemonade is too tart, add more sweetened condensed milk or sugar.
  • If the lemonade is too thick, add more water.
  • If the lemonade is not sweet enough, add more sweetened condensed milk or sugar.
